28th Presiding Bishop & Primate
The Most Rev. Sean W. Rowe was elected presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church in June 2024 and took office on Nov. 1 for a nine-year term. In this role, he serves as the church’s chief pastor and CEO. Known for his expertise in organizational learning and adaptive change, Rowe is committed to strengthening support for local ministry and mission.
He was ordained bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania in 2007 after serving as rector of St. John’s in Franklin, Pennsylvania, for seven years. From 2014 to 2018, he served as bishop provisional of the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, and from 2019 to 2024, he led a partnership between the Episcopal Dioceses of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York.
Rowe holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Grove City College, a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in organizational learning and leadership from Gannon University. He has served as a leader of many civic and churchwide organizations and governance bodies, and as parliamentarian for the House of Bishops.




Altar Guild - Prepare the altar and maintain the articles used during services.
Flower Guild - Obtain and arrange flowers for use in the church.
Adult Choir - Sing at the 10:30am service September-May. The choir has a weekly practice.
Youth and Junior Choir - Children in 1st grade through 12th grade practice weekly during the school year and perform at the 10:30am service about once per month and on Christmas Eve. The choir is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music, whereby members receive medals for their achievement in acquiring musical, liturgical and membership skills.
Tone Chimes - Children in 2nd grade and above practice weekly to prepare tone chime anthems for special services.
Acolytes - Carry the cross or torches during the 10:30am service.
Readers - Read scripture lessons or Prayers of the People at a Sunday service.
Podcast Readers - Create an audio recording of the lectionary readings for use in the Morning Prayer Podcast.
Ushers - Distribute bulletins and pass the collection plate during Sunday services.
Sunday School - Assist with Sunday school for adults, youth, or children.
Casserole Guild - Prepare and deliver meals to parishioners.
Grounds and Building - Help with small maintenance projects and maintaining the church grounds.
Counting Guild - Count and deposit money given to the church.
Small Groups - Lead one of our small groups of parishioners for a season.
