The Episcopal Church
Welcomes You
Our Presiding Bishop
28th Presiding Bishop & Primate
The Most Rev. Sean W. Rowe was elected presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church in June 2024 and took office on Nov. 1 for a nine-year term. In this role, he serves as the church’s chief pastor and CEO. Known for his expertise in organizational learning and adaptive change, Rowe is committed to strengthening support for local ministry and mission.
He was ordained bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania in 2007 after serving as rector of St. John’s in Franklin, Pennsylvania, for seven years. From 2014 to 2018, he served as bishop provisional of the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, and from 2019 to 2024, he led a partnership between the Episcopal Dioceses of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York.
Rowe holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Grove City College, a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in organizational learning and leadership from Gannon University. He has served as a leader of many civic and churchwide organizations and governance bodies, and as parliamentarian for the House of Bishops.

The central act of worship in the Episcopal Church is the weekly celebration of the Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, or mass. The first half of the service includes readings from the Holy Bible and a sermon that connects the scripture to our lives today. We praise God, greet one another in peace, and return to God some portion of what He has given us. Then we gather at the altar to be nourished with Christ's Body and Blood in the bread and wine of the Holy Eucharist.
The parish welcomes children of all ages in the service but realizes that some families prefer to worship without the distraction of caring for their young children. Nursery care is available on Sundays for infants through children age 4 from 8am until 11:30am (10am - 11:30am in June and July). The nursery is located at the bottom of the staircase.
There is no music at the 8:15am service, and the 5:00pm service has guitar music. Music at the 10:30am service consists primarily of traditional hymns from the Episcopal Hymnal played on the organ or piano. We are blessed with an adult choir that sings at the 10:30 service September through May, a children's music ministry that performs monthly September through May, and talented instrumentalists and vocalists who perform at various times throughout the year.
