28th Presiding Bishop & Primate
The Most Rev. Sean W. Rowe was elected presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church in June 2024 and took office on Nov. 1 for a nine-year term. In this role, he serves as the church’s chief pastor and CEO. Known for his expertise in organizational learning and adaptive change, Rowe is committed to strengthening support for local ministry and mission.
He was ordained bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania in 2007 after serving as rector of St. John’s in Franklin, Pennsylvania, for seven years. From 2014 to 2018, he served as bishop provisional of the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, and from 2019 to 2024, he led a partnership between the Episcopal Dioceses of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York.
Rowe holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Grove City College, a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in organizational learning and leadership from Gannon University. He has served as a leader of many civic and churchwide organizations and governance bodies, and as parliamentarian for the House of Bishops.




Sunday school classes are offered on various topics throughout the year and are typically led by clergy. The presentations are often recorded via Zoom and added to the St. Thomas youtube channel which can be accessed here.
One-Year Bible Challenge - Take the challenge to read through the entire Bible in one year starting September 7, 2025. We have assigned scripture for each day of the year (study plan found here), offer a corresponding 45-minute Bible study on Sundays at 4pm, and produce a weekly podcast (found here).
Mid-Week Reflections - Our Deacon provides written prayers and reflections on scripture each Wednesday.
Women's Bible Study - The Women's Bible Study group meets in the parish hall on Tuesdays at 9:30am to discuss scripture.
Women's Book Study - Weekly book discussion at the church on Wednesday evenings at 5:45pm.
Men's Bible Study (Holy Biscuits) - The Holy Biscuits group meets over Zoom on Wednesdays at 7:30am.
Education for Ministry (EfM) - EfM is a program of theological education-at-a-distance from The School of Theology at the University of the South. The group meets most Tuesday evenings from January to October.
Men's Group - Men of the parish gather monthly for dinner at the church.
Lunch Bunch - Although started as a program for older parishioners, people of all ages are welcome at this group's monthly lunch and program, typically on the first Wednesday of the month.
Episcopal Church Women (ECW) - Women of the church gather monthly for dinner or an activity. Days, times, and locations vary.
Daughters of the King (DOK) - A religious order of Episcopal women who vow to uphold the Rule of Life, a lifelong program of prayer, service, and evangelism.
Small Groups - St. Thomas offers short-term small group opportunities to develop relationships with other parishioners. The small groups re-form each spring and fall and meet 3-4 times.
